A joint programme of Irish language events at Electric Picnic festival this year has been published by Glór na nGael and Conradh na Gaeilge. The choice of festival entertainments ‘as Gaeilge’ will be superb this year as An Puball Gaeilge returns for the 11th year running and “Bliain na Gaeilge sa ChollChoill”, a special stage to mark the Bliain na Gaeilge campaign will both host top entertainment in our native language.
The PDF programme of events at both stages is available to download now at this link. It also features a map highlighting the Irish language stages and the Gaeltacht Campsite.
I am delighted that we have produced a brochure that will help festival goers make the best of all the entertainment available ‘as Gaeilge’ at this years festival. We have even included a few suitable phrases for anyone who’s Irish may be a bit rusty but would still like to enter into the spirit of things,” Frainc Mac Cionnaith, Bainisteoir Forbartha Pobail le Glór na nGael.
Kneecap, Rónán Ó Snódaigh, Emma Ní Fhíoruisce, Síomha, Na Hot Toddies and more feature among the unmissable moments promised at An Puball Gaeilge this year, programmed in conjunction with a number of partners including Raidió na Life, Raidió Fáilte, Glór na nGael, Imbolc, RTÉ agus An Cabaret Craiceáilte. “We have put together another cracking programme this year, I congratulated Rossa Ó Snodaigh and his team who established An Puball Gaeilge 11 years ago and who have gone to tremendous effort each year since to ensure a lively presence for our language at Ireland’s top summer festival.”
