Foras na Gaeilge has an accreditation seal for translators. This is a professional qualification for translators which acts as an assurance of the quality of the translator’s work.

This 50:50 match funding is available to commercial enterprises only (or any enterprise that does not fall under the terms of the Official Languages Act, 2003). The maximum available under this scheme is €3,000/£2,700, depending on the proposed project.

Teanglann.ie

This site provides on-line, searchable versions of two dictionaries, English-Irish Dictionary (de Bhaldraithe, 1959) and Foclóir Gaeilge-Béarla (Ó Dónaill, 1977), both of which have been the predominant references for many years. The Pronunciation database at teanglann.ie allows the user to listen to words in the major dialects, namely Connacht, Ulster and Munster.
