Glór na nGael National Competition Award Ceremony – Postponed

The board of management of Glór na nGael wishes to communicate to our community groups, our sponsors, and all interested parties that a decision has been made to postpone the Glór na nGael National Competition Awards Ceremony which was to be held in April.

The postponement is due to a lack of accommodation available in Monaghan town and the surrounding area. Naturally, we are disappointed that we have to relay this news, but it is not feasible to present awards to the community groups if these groups are unable to attend the ceremony. We understand that a significant portion of the Irish language community groups are unable to find accommodation in the greater Monaghan area. The competition awards ceremony is a celebratory event where the Irish language community recognises the achievements of community groups throughout Ireland. It is only right that every group that has won an award this year should have the opportunity to come on stage to collect it.

We are diligently working on securing a more suitable venue that will have the neccessary and appropriate accommodation available in the vicinity. We understand that this change of plan is unexpected and we sincerely apologise to everyone for any inconvenience caused. The new venue and date will ensure that we can host an event that celebrates the achievements of the community groups and the valuable work they do.

Further details regarding the date, venue, and program will be communicated very soon. Participating community groups can contact their local Development Officer with any questions or inquiries they may have. We are greatly looking forward to celebrating together the wonderful achievements of all the communities involved.

We thank you for your understanding and support.
