Glór na nGael is delighted that the first round of the 2026 Fondúireacht Sheosaimh Mhic Dhonncha grants is now open.
Clubs registered with the Foundation will have a two-week window from 25th February to 12th March to apply for a grant of up to €500 to organise Irish language projects in GAA clubs. Clubs are encouraged to consider projects that will contribute to the regular and ongoing use of Irish in the club.
Priority will be given to regular family events run by GAA clubs and to a series of opportunities to use Irish in GAA clubhouses and among club memberships. There will be no opportunity to apply for funding for signage in this round but there will be a second round this year.
Clubs must be registered with the Fondúireacht Sheosaimh Mhic Dhonncha in the current year and have paid the €40 fee before an application for funding from the club can be accepted. There is still time for clubs to register for the scheme by submitting an expression of interest here.
Fondúireacht Sheosaimh Mhic Dhonncha is a support scheme run by Glór na nGael and the Gaelic Athletic Association, for the benefit of GAA clubs wishing to promote the Irish language. You can read more about the scheme here or contact us at clg@glornangael.ie.
