Home Language in the Community

Glór na nGael collaborates with voluntary committees and individual families around Ireland, advising them on language planning and best practice. These committees work to create an Irish-speaking community on a local basis.

This scheme is suitable for them in their efforts to create that community in the areas where they operate. Families can participate in the Teanga Tí scheme by creating networks of families that come together socially on a regular basis through Irish.

The community committees can send a request to participate in the scheme to Glór na n’Gael on behalf of the families.

Or if any group of families is interested in receiving support to strengthen, expand and develop family networks with Irish in the area, they can contact family@glornangael.ie and they will be put in touch with the Development Officer for the area towards receiving support and advice.
