Community groups from all over the country gathered on December 2nd in Athlone for a Training Workshop and Networking Forum organized by Glór na nGael.
Representatives from groups involved in the Scéim Forbartha Líonra Gaeilge, Gaeltacht Service Towns, and Irish Language Networks had the opportunity to come together for a training session and discussion forum.
The day began with a closed Forum, where attendees had the chance to provide updates on their current work, discuss their plans for 2025, and address any challenges they are facing. It was a fantastic opportunity for participants to learn about the great work being carried out by groups across the country and to get to know each other better.
Tomás Mac Con Iomaire, former Head of Raidió na Gaeltachta, gave a talk on the media and the best ways for committees to publicize their work.
This was followed by a training session led by Niamh Ní Mhóra from the Glór na nGael Teanga Tí (Family Language) team. Niamh delivered training for those present on the “Clár Spraoi” and how to organize events for families raising children together.
A total of 14 representatives from 11 committees participated. These were:
Gaeil Ruairí Óg agus Gaeil na nGlinntí – Antrim
Gaelphobal Thamhlachta – Dublin
