Welcome to Glór na nGael's newly updated site. We invite visitors to look through the various aspects of Glór na nGael's work listed above and we invite comments, news and other correspondance back through our email address eolas@glornangael.ie. Each year Glór na nGael presents more than €150,000 in prizes to committees and groups in Ireland and abroad. Winners are cosen because of their work in building partnerships with many other local groups and who are successful in bringing the promotion of Irish to the heart of their work program.
The work of the committees is celebrated each year when a national prizegiving is organised and when publicity is generated in the loacal and national media for the committees' achievements. The criteria for participation in the competition, and sample plans for committees in the various levels of the competition can be found here for committees with full time staff and for committees without paid staff.
