Gaeilge - Béarla
In 2006 a new element of the competition was established when a competition began for Irish language clubs and societies in Third Level colleges and the prizes are awarded to the clubs who do most to advance Irish within their own colleges.
The Prizefunds:
1st Place - €2,500
2nd Places - €2,000
3rd Place - €1,500
Recognition Prizess x2 - €750
Clubs will be assessed on:
- ways in which they create a more Irish language environment in their colleges
- co-operation between the clubs and their college authorities in promoting Irish
and - opportuniteis for speaking the language which they create for both students and staff.
Clubs and societies wishing to take part in the competition must meet four criteria :
- an elected committee
- a written constitution
- minuted meetings
- a bank account (into which any prize gained will be paid)
