Glór na nGael today announced the creation of a new position in the group with the appointment of Donach Ó Lonargáin as the Development Officer with responsibility for a joint project between Glór na nGael and COGG.
"We extend a welcome to Donach as a member of the staff of Glór na nGael' said Glór CEO, Lorcán Mac Gabhann. 'This is a new position in which Glór na nGael, and our online shop udar.ie, will be providing schools throughout the country with access to material supplied by COGG, using the already recognised COGG van which has been on the road for the past couple of years."
The van will be working throughout the year, following a plan of work which will bring it to gaelscoileanna and Gaeltacht schools in all parts of Ireland, and also to conferences, AGMs etc of the educational organisations.
'It is a cause of satisfaction for Glór na nGael to be in a position where we can announce a new job at a timne when other jobs in this sector are under threat' said Lorcán Mac Gabhann. "Last year we created a new position as part of a joint venture with Conradh na Gaeilge and the Union of Students in Ireland, and this new job follows the same framework of co-operation."
Glór na nGael welcomes invitations from schools and every effort will be made to arrange a visit from the van so that schools can view all of the COGG range of material in a comprehensive display which travels round with the van.
