Glór na nGael welcomes applications for our minor grants initiative to promote the Irish language in Irish communities abroad.
Activities must happen between now and 30 June 2017. Applications are welcomed from groups not previously involved in the Global Gaeilge scheme, i.e new entrants, as well as long-established groups, and new migrants.
Global Gaeilge provides support for Irish communities abroad providing funding for non-profit organizations and projects. This allows us to develop more strategic links with the Irish around the world and support the capacity building of such communities.
The grant criteria:
Applicants and activities must be outside Ireland;
Proposed activities or projects must be Irish language focused. Rental and associated costs for immersion courses, classes, training, weekends, tutors, advertising, administration costs and camps, among other activities could be covered.
The application for this second call, must be with Glór na nGael before the 7th April 2017 . Entries arriving after this date will not be accepted. This scheme is limited and may not have sufficient cash to fund all applications. It is recommended to submit applications as soon as possible.
Funding will be approved on a priority basis as long as the above criteria is satisfied.
We will not fund travel or meals costs, and no funding will be provided to any event already in receipt of funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or other governmental department of the Irish Government.
Applications will not be accepted from individuals: non-profit groups and committees are eligible.
Funding may not be used towards the following items:
These grants are being provided with the assistance of the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through funding from the Emigrant Support Programme.
If you are interested in learning more about the grants scheme, or wish to receive an application form, please contact Feargal Ó Cuilinn, Bainisteoir Tionscadal: email@example.com | 00353 87 290 8391 / 00353 46 9430974
Glór na nGael is once again organising their Scéim Bronntanas as Gaeilge campaign. The campaign will run during the month of March 2017, with retailers throughout the country taking part. Dedicated point of sale display units, bearing the motto “Bronntanas as Gaeilge- Give a Gift as Gaeilge” are being supplied to the retailers, complete with a wide range of Irish Language gifts and games. It is hoped that the scheme will inspire people to purchase Irish Language items.
According to Glór na nGael CEO, Lorcán Mac Gabhann “This scheme is an excellent example of manufacturing and entrepreneurship as Gaeilge; and it also adds to the visibility of Irish in the marketplace”
If you would like to take part in the scheme & require a display unit for your business, please contact Feargal Ó Cuillinn, on 087 290 8391 / 046 9430974 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
